"I stayed at the Rhodes Hotel for 5 days in mid-July.
The hotel is in a very convenient location (Paddington station
& Heathrow Express - 5 minutes walk), with restaurants & pubs
all around. They offer free internet, and a nice breakfast
in the morning. My room (single ensuite) was on the small
side, but very clean with everything I needed. The hosts (Maria
& Chris) are what makes this place so special - they have
great advice for everyone and are very helpful. This hotel
is great for its quality-price offering. Next time I go to
London, this is where I will stay! ."
"We loved this hotel! The proprietors, Chris and Maria
are lovely people and couldn't have been nicer, or more helpful.
They were wonderful to our children as well. We stayed in
a family room which was clean and well equipped with a bathtub,
small refrigerator and great air conditioning. The hotel is
in a superb location - 2 tube stations within a couple minutes
walk. Across from beautiful Hyde Park. The breakfast was great,
and we got terrific restaurant and sightseeing recommendations
from Chris. I recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking
for a great value, clean rooms and warm, personal hospitality.

Breakfast include St Mary's Hospital (and nurse-training centre)

at Paddington Basin (this canal links Manchester and London).
In London Paddington Station there is a statue of Paddington
Bear, a character of children's fiction who, in the book,
is first discovered at this station and hence named after
it. Paddington has several famous sons, notably Alexander
Fleming — the scientist who discovered Penicillin (a plaque
commemorating this is placed outside his laboratory at St
Mary's Hospital on Praed Street) — and Alan Turing (mathematician).
More recent natives of London Paddington include the musicians
Seal, Courtney Pine and Elvis Costello, the footballer Les
Ferdinand the actresses Emma Thompson and Rhona Mitra.
Sussex Square situated at the back of the hotel was where
Sir Winston Churchill once lived.
Rhodes Hotel is the London Bed and Breakfast to
consider for your short term accommodation needs.
Lancaster Gate just 2 minutes from the hotel is a mid-nineteenth century development in the Bayswater district of west central London, immediately to the north of Kensington Gardens. It is comprised of two long terraces of houses overlooking the park, with a wide gap between them which opens onto a square containing a church. Further terraces back onto the pair overlooking the park and loop around the square.
Lancaster Gate stands alongside Hyde Park Gardens as one of the two grandest of the 19th century housing schemes lining the northern side of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.
